The following Frequently Asked Questions document is an ongoing dialog and conversation with our Founder and CEO Amber Burckhalter. If you have a question not answered here, please contact us and we will get you an answer ASAP!


Why the change?
We’ve always been at the forefront of the industry. Over the last several years, we have become more and more active in the animal care community, serving on volunteer development boards, speaking at various conferences and events, serving on research panels with leading behaviorists, trainers, nutritionists, veterinarians, etc… Through this, we’ve identified numerous shortcomings of current care methods and we’re working to raise industry standards and positively impact dog’s lives beyond merely giving them a play yard while their pet parents are away on vacation, at work etc… By elevating standards, we honor our history of leadership in the industry and continue to serve our K-9 Coach families so that their dogs can be happy, safe and well-balanced members of our community.

These select, members-only programs mean that our customers have peace of mind knowing that their dog is not only safe and healthy; that they are engaged in carefully structured activities that reach both physical and mental exercise goals; that they are paired within small, similar groups of dogs that are companions to them, and enjoy the same activities; and that all the families and clients that come to K-9 Coach share the same vision and mission for their dogs! Together, we will elevate canine care to a new level.

What are the members only programs?
Membership programs are required for lodging and playcare services only. You can enjoy our training, grooming and retail regardless of membership. The Club at K-9 Coach membership, available at different levels, allows you choose the experience and services that are right for your dog and your family. The exclusive model is focused on providing your pups an immersive experience with structured health, welfare and behavioral benefits. A membership package allows up to two dogs from the same family.   • Silver: $25 per month OR $275 annually
  • Gold: $40 per month OR $420 annually
  • Platinum: $60 per month OR $660 annually

That’s great! What is the pricing structure for services?
Previously, we offered enrichment services such as private play, massage, swim, etc… at a fee per service. We want every dog that stays and / or plays with us to have an enriching experience and so, other than specific training or grooming services, we’ve incorporated all our previously fee per service enrichment activities into our daily routine. With your membership, rates are:

  • Lodging: $50 per night
  • Full Day Playcare: $35 per day
  • 1/2 Day Playcare: $25 per day

When are these changes taking place?

  • February 1 – March 1 – New Pricing Begins (preexisting reservations honored). New Program Activities.
  • March 1 – Membership Required.

Do you still provide daily service discounts such as cash, multi-dog, military & public safety?
Yes. Daily discounts for services are still offered.

Are reservations required for Camp (playcare) activities?
NO. The Club promises carefully structured activities including physical and mental exercise within small activity and play groups. To deliver that promise, K-9 Camp (playcare) size is limited to a TOTAL of 40 dogs per day. We DO NOT want to turn you away, so we strongly urge members to make a reservation or, for last minute needs, call to make sure we have space available for Camp. And, remember, you can do recurring reservations as well! If possible, playcare cancellations should provide a minimum 24-hour notice to allow other members to take a cancelled spot.

For Camp activities, when should pups arrive?
Dogs can arrive at any time. HOWEVER, in order to receive the full program of services, dogs should arrive by 9 AM.

Will you still offer half-day Camp (playcare)?
Yes. The half day rate is $25 with discounted 10 packs available.

Will you still have cash discount Camp (playcare) on Saturdays?
Yes. The Saturday cash special rate will be $25 per day effective February 1.

Will you still offer complimentary Camp (playcare) on class days?
For the current quarter of classes, which overlaps this transition, yes. For the Spring Quarter, which begins after the membership transition, all lodging and playcare participants will be required to have membership.

What about my current Camp (playcare) package?
All packages from the previous model and pricing will be honored until March 1, 2018. After March 1, all membership and pricing rules will be effective. The value of any remaining days on February 28 will be applied as a credit on your account and can be used for any future service, including membership.

What is your membership cancellation policy?
You may you may cancel your membership at any time by calling us or by notifying us in writing at, 4870 South Atlanta Rd. SE, Smyrna, GA 30080.

What if I don’t want to join?
We understand that this model will not be a fit for everyone, but we are certain that it is in the best interest of those we serve. By becoming members of K-9 Coach, we are asking for a commitment to shared values where there is a culture of mutual respect for every person and every dog that comes into our building and where every dog can engage in all of our enriching opportunities.

We hope that you will join us in this industry leading movement and would be happy to welcome you. If you choose not to join The Club at K-9 Coach, you are still welcome to participate in our award-winning training, grooming and expanded retail offerings. Participation in Lodging or Camp services requires membership.
